The whole world, the sport community and the ski industry have honored Sarah Burke after the tragic loss of our freeski icon, and I still can't believe and totally realize what happened... Those last weeks have been really hard emotionally. She was a great friend and my biggest inspiration since I met her and discovered freeskiing!

Sarah was the pioneer of women freeskiing and stayed all these years at the top of the game, leading our sport, pushing everyday the progression and the limits further to another level. She helped me to launch my ski career, and without her, I definitely wouldn't be living this dreaming life... Since the beginning we have been competing together, laughing and cheering each other at the top of the halfpipe contests all over the world. Sarah was our leader and with a small group of lucky girls, we took part with her in the evolution of freeskiing, while she was making the history of our sport and fighting for our rights. Sarah was always the first one to be happy to see more girls getting involved with freeskiing, specially when the younger girls were pushing us to ski better. We will never be able to thank her enough for all the things she did, she paved the way for women freeskiing, becoming forever our true legend!

Sarah was one of the most incredible, kind, smiling, strong and positive person I have ever met. She believed in everyone, in her sport and was giving lots of love around her. I am really lucky that I got to have her in my life. I always wished that we weren't living on two different continents, so we could have spent more time together... because being with her was just magic!

Sometimes some events happen which we do not expect, which provoke big shocks, which have important consequences. But these events make us grow and teach us the life. Thank you Sarah for everything, I will miss you forever and will never forget you my friend!!! Nothing will ever be the same without you... Sweet dreams angel...

I am thinking and sending lots of love to her family through those difficult moments!
